You matter

There's a little place reserved just for you in everyone's heart, how you treat them can either increase or shrink it until it doesn't exist anymore. They love you to the core of their hearts, but what they get in return might spoil that until they reach a breaking point, where they start to think, “why do I even care about this person”
It might be genuine love, inspired by pure admiration. They want nothing in return, except that they care about you, but how long that will last depend on how you treat them back. The number of disappointments you throw on their way because even the nicest ones, the most loyal, those with hearts that are made of gold, love, loyalty and compassion is all they know, do get to that point where they say “screw it, why do I even bother, I’m done”
Usually, your high expectations, exaggerated ego and negligence are what drives them away, gives them a reason to slowly give up on you. Unfortunately, you forget that when you need them and they’re nowhere to be found.
As a result, you blame them for turning their backs on you without considering that you might have pushed them away because as humans we are so good in picking up faults from other people, but never in ourselves
They say when days are dark, friends are few, but there’s a very good explanation for that. Well, that’s what I think. When there's an accident everybody runs for safety, when everything clears up, every curious mind goes back to find out what really went down. Probably the same with friends, when your days are dark, they keep away for their safety because they don’t want to be affected by that, when your light shines they come back to see what’s been going on with you
Difficult times are very toxic and they just show up uninvited. They infect everyone around you, especially the faint-hearted. That’s probably the reason everyone suddenly disappears when they show up
So if your days suddenly turns dark and you find yourself going through hard times all by yourself, just hang in there, they probably ran for their safety. Eventually, they’ll be back when the storm has passed. You don't have to despise anyone, they did what’s best for them, which is running for their safety. Always ask yourself if you didn’t push them away before blaming them for anything
The fact is, you matter to everyone, unfortunately only when conditions favour them sometimes. Maybe when it’s cold, when they are in need of your help, when they are sad, needing someone to put a smile on their faces, to comfort and encourage them, when they are stranded/in trouble or when they are just bored. But the fact is, you matter to them, just when the conditions favour them
We are humans, we all want happiness, sometimes at someone else’s expense. If somebody claims that at your expense don't be bitter, hold no grudges because they were running for their own safety and survival. You're not perfect yourself, you probably ran away from others while they needed you. Or you pushed them away because you didn’t need them at the time
Learn to accept everyone for who they are, not who you want them to be. Love and respect everyone just the way you expect them to and more
