My desire to be a better person gets me surrounded by strangers
A lot of them that I barely remember their names as soon as they face the opposite direction
Barely recognize their faces when we bump to each other again

They come and go, so is their memory in my mind as they walk away
Especially when they didn't add any value to me
Their conversations didn’t make much of a difference
But there’s a few that forgetting them becomes only a wish
They usually have done more than enough to be forgotten
They leave a mark, more reasons to be remembered even when they're not around
Just like that woman who always yell on everything, you can’t do no wrong even in her absence
Because you'll hear her voice yelling at you when you think about crossing the line
But If I give you a friendship status, you are my friend for life

You'll make me mad at times, but I'll always find you
To tell you that you were wrong and forgive you right away
You'll leave me, find new friends, but I'll find you again to check if you're still doing alright
Because if I give you a friendship status, you're simply my friend for life

I'll do you wrong, you'll walk away from me, perhaps hate me
But I'll always find you to ask for forgiveness

You might take that as a weakness, just like most people would do
Take you for a fool when you reach out to them, caring about them
Or just appreciate the effort I make for the sake of our friendship
But if I give you a friendship status, you're my friend for life, nothing will change that

I might push you beyond your breaking point, say things that won't seat well with you
Making you think of me as less of a friend you thought I was, you expect me to be
But I'll always apologize when you bring that to my attention
When you suddenly change from the person you've been to me
Because when I give you a friendship status, you're simply my friend for life

I'll always watch your back, even if you leave mine exposed at times
I believe all friends are like that, they do nothing hoping for something in return
They look after one another, all the time
Selflessly help each other without expecting a reward, but in the name of friendship

You might be disappointed at me, feel like I blew every chance you gave me to be close to you
Go out of your way to make sure our paths don’t cross by any chance
You might even try your best to stay away from me, even when it hurts you
A friend for life you'll remain still and there’s no escape to that

Even if you decide that it’s all about you now, you are doing you
There's no room for other people because they let you down
I'll keep my doors open, a room for you when you decide to let anyone in
Because if I give you a friendship status, you’re my friend forever

We may not talk to each other all the time
See each other every day, in fact, years may go by without a single word
Making you think we’ve grown apart, but I’ll always find you
Because if I give you a friendship status, you’re my friend for life
