The world is filled with everything, well decorated with everything your eyes could see and admire From sad stories to beautiful moments you wish they never end It can leave you confused, amazed, wondering how it got to that point How it happened, why it happened, but it never seizes to turn for the better Change what seemed to be tragedy into roses and diamonds
wars to endless celebrations But you have to grab what makes you a better person and run away with it
People are starving, woman are suffering, children are dying
but there’s not much that’s being done Because there’s always something better to focus our minds on If it’s not in the picture, in the form of a video it’s not important
it’s not worth anyone’s attention You can be part of those who spread the word
or simply be the one who brings a positive change But you have to grab what makes you a better person and run away with it
We see the Mugabe’s, the Zuma’s, the Gupta’s
they take everything that’s there to be taken They even own our minds, force us to think and discuss them on a daily basis We take time off from things that really matter to spread their influence But you have to spot what makes you a better person and run away with it
So many saints, yet the world is falling apart
when you look hard enough they’re all responsible They create the struggle, the chaos in African countries
and simply turn it into profits when you feel defeated
Racism is glowing all over the world
even in winter during freezing weathers it still shines When we are quiet living our lives, they always find a way to get under our skin We can’t run, but does facing it makes any difference Does fighting back makes us better people,
because to me it seems that they celebrate when we retaliate
Maybe that’s what they want from the first place
to take our minds off from things that really matter Put our attention on them while they put the money offshore
steal more of the land we desperately need When we call them racist, spend our time sharing their racist videos
they steal even more of our resources But you’ve got to grab what makes you a better person and run away with it
They are always one step ahead to prosecute a black man for sins he committed as an infant But they turn a blind eye to a white man who constantly breaks the law he created himself Afriforum we see you, where are the de Klerk? Would you get the number correct if you were to count the lives that were lost in their hands But a black man will be sent to jail even when he’s down on his knees begging for forgiveness But you have to grab what makes you a better person and run away with it
I’m not asking you to turn a blind eye on everything else, lock yourself away Or let the selected garbage they choose for you to read through media platforms pass you Or even ignore the same media is owned by an individual
because you can’t live in the world and not be part of it But you’ve got to choose what makes you a better person and run away with it
We can’t ignore the struggle we go through every day
the fact that we don’t have a land We find ourselves overcrowded when it’s only 49 million of us We are unemployed, but does blaming anyone makes us better people Does blaming a man who keeps on looting even when we shout telling him to stop changes the situation Probably not, but you’ve got to take what makes you a better person and run away with it
This life thing ain’t for the weak, probably not for the strongest ones either But for those who always take a moment to think thoroughly before making a decision Those who doesn’t put feelings first when facing challenges
but prioritize facts over everything
Grab what makes you a better person and run away with it, always
“It’s all about one day at a time, one day at a time”
