Dear black people’s critics

Everything bad seems to describe us better to you
irrespective of everything we try to do right because
you choose to see only the bad things about us
Like everybody else, we always try to be number one
but we always find ourselves at the very bottom of the food chain
In fact, we know we have to make it to the finishing point
but it’s never that easy getting there, it’s never easy landing up there at the top
because we face more challenges than we anticipate.
Sometimes we are responsible for our failures, I cannot deny that
We fail because we turn to compare ourselves to those who are already there
we live like those who have already made it while we’re still battling to get there
Well, life just happens sometimes, but none of that gives any of you an authority to judge us.
Through my intense observation I’ve discovered that, rich people have time for what they want
what they want to achieve, what needs to be done and to be wherever they want to be because they always have all the resources in place. Well, average and poor people have time for other things that needs to be done to get time for what they want, that’s most probably the reason why we are always behind. We have to do other things before we can get to do what we want. We have to make the way before we can begin to walk on it.
We know for sure that it’s pointless to first go south when you know that you’re heading north, but as a black man you do, you even via west sometimes because your life has more detours than the actual routes to be taken.
Before you judge us for being lazy, ignorant and everything you find it perfect to paint us with when you sitting in your mansions that most of you were handed to you, try to understand the struggles we go through to get everything done.
The day to day struggles we have to sort out before we can get to focus on what we want, where we want to be and
everything else that needs to be done.
You don’t have to walk a mile in our shoes to understand our stories, but if you could observe thoroughly, a thing or two might change in your mind when you think about us.
