They say “You don’t always get what you want in life”, I refuse to believe that because it’s not entirely true. The truth is, you always get what you want, but just not the way you want it, or at the time you want it the most. Either too early, when you are not expecting it, or too late, when you have given up on it, lost interest on it, so it becomes easy to overlook it because you are not expecting it to be the way it is, but the fact is, you got it.

We cry, saying starting up isn’t easy, maybe it’s not, maybe it is, but where and how you start will always be a contributing factor. Either to slow you down or to speed you up. Sometimes we want to start up there while we have the requirements to start down there. Sometimes we lack the knowledge and resources, but the point remains, how and where you start will always play a major role in whatever you do.

I’ve discovered that somewhere in this complicated world, there’s a little island called “Success” where every man and women are liberated from fear, freed from all the struggles they went through to get there and all their worries are no more. A place where making a living is easy, you don’t have to do anything, or at least not much when you happen to do something because all the offers just come to you. A place where everything you excel on is appreciated, where it gets exposed, dug out of you for everyone to see. They hunt you down to offer you everything the majority only dreams of, but the only challenge is to get there, find a direction to that place.

It’s a place every human being talks about on a daily basis, but you’ll be amazed to realize the place is not over crowded, probably because the route to get the isn’t that easy, it demands a lot of work, patience, dedication and countless trial and error with a lot of failures to deal with. But what is it that you and I who wants to live there doing to get there, what is it that we are doing to prove that we are also capable of living in that side of the world except complaining.

Do we sleep early hoping our dreams will get us there on time, do we hate those who are trying, hoping our envy will drag them down while lifting us up, do we work so hard to pave the way, or we are just sitting talking about it every day hoping mumbling about it will automatically open the doors, open the way for us. Or we are just complaining about funds as the real reason we are so distant to that Island called “Success”

Here is the thing, in some other planets, chefs use food to gamble, rich people use money of course, poor people share their stories about being poor and the one with an interesting story wins for the day. Dreamers dig ideas and gamble with, lovers gamble with their hearts, but they all use what they already have to make a living.

You too, you are capable of something, start with it. Build your own profile, your own reputation to attract those offers. Make people recognize you, give them a reason to come to you, to value the services you offer. Gamble with your food, with your dreams or anything that can smooth up your start. I’m certain that you want to live on the less crowded side of the world, in the island called “Success”, how you wake up early every day, even when your body refuse to tells it all, how you are all over the place trying to start your business can be regarded as the proof, but all you need is believe, keep going.

Remember, those musicians that get gigs they didn’t do anything to get them, those who get offered jobs without applying, those big agencies we call to offer them an opportunity to help us sell our houses, those big marketing companies we run to, to advertise our products, those famous writers with hundreds of published books and those entrepreneurs that get offered deals they didn’t even apply for started right where we are, they built their profiles, paved their route all the way to the Island called “Success”. Even when it looked impossible, they made it possible.
