These are the most common recommendations you’ll find when you search how to be a successful entrepreneur, about being an entrepreneur, the life of an entrepreneur compared to a non-entrepreneur, how rich people live compared to poor people, and generally how to better yourself in your journey to success or to better manage and grow your financials
Don’t ask me what each article says in detail because I don’t memorize. I just read it to understand its context, making it easy for me to read it again when written by somebody else
Also, I don’t always have time to actually go and read the suggestions provided, especially when they reference books to read. I don’t read them, but I keep every piece of information at the back of my mind for future use when I can’t act on them right now
I passionately read about all these recommendations that I come across until they say sleep for seven hours. Njani Manje, who is going to implement the other suggestions when you sleep for that long? Where do you even get seven hours as an entrepreneur?
I think I’m reading that line wrong, or maybe there’s a “do not” in fine print that I can’t see. Perhaps they’re being sarcastic, or they mean 7 minutes because that’s basically what you have as an entrepreneur, as a business owner, or as an individual on a mission. Even then, it’s hardly by choice, a decision you make that I’m going to bed now, it’s an involuntary sleep that you catch unexpectedly. You kind of fall asleep while still working on something, while still busy planning your next day
Perhaps, that refers to already successful or established business owners. Maybe I’m just involving myself to big boys staff, because I know for a fact that as a small business owner, all you do is work, even when you don’t want to, you just work
That’s why is very much recommended to go for something you love when you choose your business adventure because if that’s not the case, you’re more likely to quit especially if you don’t have a lot of cash lying around to support your journey. Your body will at some point encourage you to let it go because you’ll work even on days where there’s no work, you’ll have to find one
Americans and Asians clash on one thing, well, among other things. Americans talk about being passionate about something they do, all you hear is how passionate they are. They did this and that because they’re passionate about it, whereas Asians believe in hard work and sustainable profit. If it doesn’t look like you’re doing something from a distance, it doesn’t make money for you and future generations, then it’s not good enough
I can't choose for you to go the American way or the Asian way, but whatever you choose to do, do it well, passionately so that even if someone tells you “This sucks”, you’ll still have the confidence to say, “this is it, I made a piece of art” or at least “it’s OK, give it a bit of time, you’ll see how it turns out once finished”
It reminds me of a good guy who was my training office, when you ask “How does it look” referring to a task you just completed, he will ask you, “If you could find this on the shelves on sale somewhere,  would you buy it”
If the answer is yes, then it means you’re happy with what you have done so he will be happy too
And of course, you’ll always be happy with your work because you’ve done your best, well, you are just lazy to redo it in most cases. But if it can entice you to buy it, it means it’s good enough
Whatever the case may be, just do it well and be happy with what you’ve done irrespective of the reasons behind its appearance and quality and be ready to accept the consequences of your choices
I practice all the recommendations mentioned above to keep me in line with those who have made it and those who are on the same journey as myself, but I fail to understand the sleeping for 7 hours part, But I guess if it helps you become more productive each day, go for it, just do it well
